Island, city and rainforest resorts, farm stays, B&B’s, live-a-board scuba boats, campervans. Accommodations can vary for all tastes and budgets.

Documentation
A valid passport is required for travel to Australia. Passport must be valid for at least six months after travel is completed. A visa is required for US Citizens on vacation. Australia has a departure tax of AUD$20.00 per person, payable at the time of departure from Australia.

Climate
Australia’s seasons are:
Spring(September - November)
Summer(December-February)
Autumn(March-May)
Winter(June-August)
Northern part of Australia is the tropical zone and the southern area is the temperate zone.

What to Wear
Lightweight, comfortable clothes and walking shoes, a hat and sunglasses. For southern winters bring a coat, jacket, raincoat and umbrella.

Currency
The Australia dollar. As a guide US54cents = AUD$1.00, however check for current conversion rates prior to your trip for the most current rates.

Electricity
240/250 volt AC, however, you may find 110 volt outlets for electric shavers at many of the larger hotels. Bring an adapter/converter set.

Driving
Driving is on the opposite side of the road of what is observed in the US. International drivers permit is advised.

Tipping
Tipping is not a normal practice in Australia. However, it is becoming more common for exceptional service.
