Hotel Tango Mar
At
Tango Mar you can appreciate the natural attractions
of Costa Rica. The tropical setting evokes a sense
of being in the Garden of Eden surrounded by exotic
plants and trees. You never need look far to find
wild birds and animals such as macaws, toucans, parrots,
sloths, turtles, iguana, deer and many other species.
Several resident families of howler monkeys entertain
guests daily with their antics amid the treetops.
But don't be startled by their trademark "howl"
fit for creatures at least ten times their size!
Tango Mar is located between Curu Biological Reserve and
Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve. Curu is a family owned working
finca and private reserve comprising of beaches, swamps
and beautiful forests. The area is home to a great variety
of sea and land birds, white-tailed deer, monkeys, coatis,
armadillo and other animals. A naturalist guided tour brings
out the jungle's hidden treasures.
Cabo
Blanco is a place where the visitor can experience being
completely alone on a deserted beach. This important refuge
for the protection of seabirds is one of the most scenic
spots along the Pacific Coast.
In addition to seabirds, Cabo Blanco is home to white-tailed
deer, monkeys, tiger cat and other wildlife species. The
reserve is featured in a Jeep safari through the beaches,
hills and countryside.
For bird watching and wildlife enthusiasts, nearby Pochote
Mangrove Estuary is a tidal river offering an opportunity
to drift quietly downstream at sunset while watching and
listening for all the signs of riverbank life and bioculture.
The Pacific waters around Tango Mar are home to an abundance
of sea mammals such as whale and porpoise. Huge mantas are
sighted frequently, and endangered leatherback and green
turtles come to a secluded area of the resort's beach to
lay their eggs.
The sights and sounds of nature can also be enjoyed on
horseback riding trails from Tango Mar which cross beaches,
rivers and valleys, breaking at waterfalls, villages and
other places of interest.
For Tango Mar living close to nature means living in harmony
with it. The resort plays a leading role in managing local
conservation projects including measures to protect turtle
nesting and collect data on hatchings. The resort also provides
a special area for deer to feed and exercise and it coordinates
the safe placement of deer with other land owners in the
region.
