Creative Travel Adventures is pleased to offer the following services:
1. Free ½ hour consultation over the phone or in my office
This is a very important and fun consultation. At this meeting I like
to get to know you better and understand your traveling habits. IE What are
your interests? Where have you traveled before? What special occasions will
you be celebrating on your vacation? What are your three top priorities or
interests that will make this vacation special?
With these questions and more, I will be able to match up your interests and
desires to the destination or resort that is best suited for your
tailor-made
vacation.
2. Follow-up Consultations
This consultation is fun and exciting for me. I call a few days
prior
to your vacation to answer any last minute questions or offer any tips that
haven’t already been discussed for your vacation. This will enable a
worry-free vacation.
Also I follow-up with your vacation AFTER you travel. This greatly benefits
both of us. I receive incredible tips from every client regarding the
resort and/or destination that is valuable for future travelers. Also if any
problems were to arise, this is a perfect time to move forward in the right
direction.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why use a travel
agent?
Excellent question to ask, here
are just a few reasons.
One Stop Shopping:
Like a personal shopper, agents can provide one-stop shopping
for travelers who require air arrangements, rental cars, cruise
accommodations and hotel stays --- with suggestions that are
in the best interest of the client, not the supplier.
Travel Expert:
Through an on-going and time-consuming process of familiarization,
continuing education and customer feedback, the agent becomes
a travel expert.
Unbiased information:
Investigating and supplying competitive information. No single
supplier is going to advise a consumer that a better route
or a better fare is available on a competing carrier or package.
Staying abreast of the most current and timely promotions:
Via daily faxes, agent-only e-mail transmissions, and their
relationships with their district sales managers, agents are
obtaining the most current promotional information.
Analyzing the current promotions:
The cheapest is not always the best. Clarifying the fine print,
such as cancellation penalties and restrictions. Again, the
benefits of a professional's experience can save a traveler
money . . . and headaches.
Making recommendations for travel-related options:
Travel agents share the experience and knowledge they accumulate
about a variety of travel topics --- from where to eat, where
to shop and what to pack.
Value-added Services to your vacation:
Agents can add to the clients' experience by sending a bottle
of wine, providing a special land package, a specific escort
or other customer amenities.
Using their clout to obtain the best possible in seemingly
impossible situations:
Whether it's airline seats, hotel rooms or cruise space, the
travel agent has more buying power than the consumer.
Getting problems resolved:
The agent serves as the consumers' advocate in the event something
inadvertently goes wrong.
Are you able to get discounted rates on our vacation plans?
I only work with reputable wholesalers, ticket brokers and tour operators
that negotiate discounted rates, and offer great customer service. The
price
reflects the same if you were to go directly or book it through me.
Although
through my knowledge of the best value and creative itineraries, I am
usually
able to find better prices.
How do you correspond with clients?
Whatever works best for the client, via email, telephone or fax. Although
in
the initial stages of the consultation, I prefer contact via the telephone
to
provide and receive accurate information on your vacation request. Once all
the reservations have been booked and a deposit has been received,
correspondence via email or telephone is acceptable to discuss what clothes
to pack or where to exchange your money in a foreign destination. Call me at
303-694-8786.
When will I receive my tickets for my vacation?
Typically for vacations where the airfare, accommodations, and car rentals
have been booked through a tour operator, the vouchers and tickets will
arrive in my office within 14 days of travel. Once I thoroughly review the
documents and make sure they are perfect, I will phone you for details on
picking up or mailing the tickets.
Most air only reservations are electronic tickets and will be distributed
via
email.
When I make vacation plans, when do I have to pay for them?
Once a vacation has been agreed upon, vacation packages require an initial
deposit of $150-$200 per person. Final payment is due 45-60 days prior to
your departure date.
Is travel insurance really important?
Insurance really gives a "peace of mind". It will protect you for any
unforeseeable circumstances, such as a medical emergency to you or an
immediate family member. It will also cover you medically while you are on
vacation, as well as lost or stolen luggage, luggage delay, trip delay etc.
Stiff penalties from the tour operators apply for any cancellations, so
insurance is very wise. Call Margi at 303-694-8786 for more details.
Any tips for making my vacation worry-free?
A couple come to mind.
- Make sure your passport is valid and current before traveling to a
foreign destination, also check if a visa is required for your destination.
- Pack all your valuables such as jewelry, cameras, prescriptions etc. in
your carry-on bag
- ALWAYS reconfirm your flights 24 hours in advance to make sure
everything is on schedule.
- Read and understand all travel documents prior to leaving on your
vacation.
- Exchange any money prior to departing on your foreign destination, even
if its for $50, it will be useful for any taxis etc that you will encounter
right away.
- Travel Insurance is highly advisable to cover for any unforeseen
circumstances.
Are their any professional designations for travel agents?
Look for an agent with the professional designations of CTA or CTC behind their name, which means higher levels of education, certification, and experience. I consider the CTA to be the "master's degree" of travel and the CTC to be the "Ph.D." of travel.
I am currently a CTC, I also have certifications in Tahiti, Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Sandals and Disney Resorts. Education is a huge part of my business plan, thus requiring me to visit destinations and resorts on a regular basis as well as attending local seminars.
