I just returned from a truly remarkable experience on board the newly transformed Star Legend from Windstar Cruises. The $310 million plus renovation to the ship was spectacular! With only 213 adult guests on this sailing, it felt like my own personal yacht with an intimate, laid-back vibe.
The staff was attentive, and many knew my name which made me feel special. It was so refreshing to hear, “Good Morning Margi, how are you?” to start the day. The 1:1.5 staff-to-guest ratio really elevated the level of service
The cabin was spacious with a sitting area, walk-in closet, double sink bathroom with a walk-in shower, and glass doors that opened to the most picturesque locales.
It was fun to explore all the exotic destinations on the itinerary – Istanbul, Canakkale, Mykonos, Kusadasi, Bodrum, Rhodes, and Santorini. The private group candlelight dinner with the string quartet playing at Ephesus (an ancient city in Turkey) will be a memory I will cherish forever.
The guides provided at each destination were so knowledgeable and informative. Our guide in Bodrum made our day at the castle and onboard our gullet (traditional wooden boat) one of the best adventure days in Turkey.
I also enjoyed the water sports off the back of the ship, paddle boarding and kayaking. I am hoping to go waterskiing next time.
The shopping in Istanbul and Kusadasi was awesome. The leather and carpets in Turkey are amazing!
Windstar Cruises helped reconfirm my passion for luxury small-ship sailing! The intimate, laid-back atmosphere, luxury amenities, and with only 148-300 guests onboard were a perfect match for me.
The reason to choose Windstar are numerous: friendly staff, delicious culinary delights, exotic locales, spacious cabins, entertaining music, full fitness facility, and the list goes on!
